The Class

Contemporary Issues in Arts Management/ Administration is a course that shares the benchmark issues, events, artists and organizations that form the history of American Arts Management and Administration Practices. During the winter of 2018 the issue we are exploring is Arts Advocacy.

Students have spent the semester researching their state legislators, studying arts policy issues and understanding the effects federal funding has on local cultural organizations and artists.

This weekend we will be traveling to the Americans for the Arts Annual Advocacy Day Conference. Follow our students as we put theory into practice and make the case for supporting the Arts & Cultural Sector at this national conference.
