Legislative Meetings

Our morning began with a breakfast meeting with Senator Debbie Stabenow. It was so amazing to meet her and I think we can all speak to the fact that today was an experience we will hold onto for our entire life. To quote Susan, "we did a great job". Our second meeting went incredibly well and Alex, Representative Brenda Lawrence's staff member, Alex, was very engaged. We spoke to the importance of arts in relation to arts education, immigration and VISA processing. Speaking about how passionate we are about arts and speaking with people who share these beliefs, was extremely empowering. We were so proud to represent Americans For the Arts on Arts Advocacy Day.
